For small craft, the total compass adjustment fee is typically between $A250 to $A500. To maintain this fee structure, vessels' compasses are scheduled to be adjusted on the same date as other vessels in that location. | ||
Merchant vessels compasses can be adjusted subject to the adjuster’s availability at the time of the requested compensation. The fee for vessels larger than 1000 GRT is from $A1,500. This professional service fee is for the adjustment and does not include any transfer cost that may be incurred. For the issue of a deviation card, it is recommended that the adjustment is conducted on departure, allowing for a comprehensive historical analysis of the deviations and binnacle preparation to expedite the compensation. With prior arrangement, and vessel involvement in recording compass errors, the compass can be adjusted whilst berthed in Gladstone. A deviation card can not be issued for adjustments conducted whilst berthed. |

The fee for “one offs” and isolated locations is by agreement.
